    Reader takes

    • I watched Parasite three times before I stopped arguing with friends about the stairs. The first viewing is a thriller; the second is a class diagram; the third is just the smell joke landing like a curse. Celluloid’s score matches how airtight the craft feels — even when the ending refuses catharsis. Not “fun,” exactly, but I keep recommending it to anyone who thinks prestige cinema can’t also be nasty and funny.
