Yes — Sweet Home earns a 74% Celluloid Score. Recommended, created by Hong So-ri, Kim Hyung-min, Park So-jung and streaming on Netflix.

Celluloid Verdict

A genuinely nasty, lavishly mounted creature show whose monsters double as appetites — the first season is Korean genre TV at full budget, though the later runs swap claustrophobia for military plotting.

What is Sweet Home about?

Cha Hyun-su moves into the crumbling Green Home apartments after losing his family, intending to disappear quietly. Within days the building is sealed: across the country people are turning into monsters shaped by whatever they wanted most. The surviving residents — a gangster, a nurse, a firefighter, a bassist, a runaway soldier — barricade the lobby and start deciding who still counts as human, while Hyun-su changes into something that may be neither monster nor man.

Sweet Home (2020) Review: Monsters Made of Desire

Sweet Home is Netflix's Korean creature horror series about residents trapped in a crumbling apartment block. Its first season is superb; the later two sprawl.

Mostly yes. The first season is a nasty, inventive monster siege worth seeing; seasons 2 and 3 widen the world and lose much of the tension, so fans only.
